Intermountain Regional Landfill, LLC (IRL) is hiring an experienced Controller who is a passionate individual, knowledgeable accountant, and effective communicator to lead IRL’s skilled Accounting Team out of our Lehi, Utah office. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting processes, performing in-depth financial analysis, and managing the accounting team for both IRL and our joint venture company Ace Intermountain Recycling Center, LLC (AIRC).

In-depth training will be provided by the Chief Financial Officer to ensure you are setup to succeed as you take on your new role. As the new Controller, you will be working closely with IRL’s Assistant Controller who has been with IRL for over 7 years, in addition to the other key members of the IRL accounting team. You will be working with and reporting directly to Josh Rogers, IRL's Chief Financial Officer, a skilled accountant who has been with IRL for over 10 years, as well as the President of IRL, Rob Richards, a highly respected leader in the waste industry in Utah with over 25 years of experience.

Role and Responsibilities

• Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting functions
• Actively managing and supporting the IRL accounting team
• Coordinating the preparation financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Leading the timely and accurate finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Providing in-depth financial analysis and projections
• Analyzing and managing cashflow and capital requirements
• Manage banking relationships and insurance policies
• Developing and monitoring key performance metrics
• Calculation of key industry specific accounting estimates
• Overseeing the processing of payroll and management of benefits
• Ensuring debt covenant compliance
• Monitoring internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting at minimum
• CPA or CMA preferred
• 5-7 years of accounting experience
• 5-7 years of management experience
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Skilled at using Microsoft Excel to complete financial analysis and modeling
• Adept of accounting for multiple business units using class-based income statements
• Capable of accounting for intercompany transactions between related entities
• Experienced with utilizing data analytics and power BI preferred
• Proficient with QuickBooks online
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Ability to solve problems, organize systems, and improve procedures
• Professional, positive, and self-confident personality

• Work time scheduling would generally be 8 hrs per day between 9am - 5pm

Ace Intermountain Recycling Center, LLC (AIRC)
AIRC was established in 2015 as a partnership between Ace Disposal and Intermountain Regional Landfill. AIRC is a locally owned and operated transfer station. AIRC started with seven trucks and trailers to serve commercial waste haulers in the Salt Lake Valley. AIRC has grown to be one of the largest transfer station in Utah with locations in Salt Lake City, Pleasant Grove, and Heber.
